what if i don't really know what i want?
No problem! We conduct thorough research on you, your content, and your target audience, allowing us to gain a comprehensive understanding of what you want and need even if you don’t know how to put it into words.
why do you only use showit?
Showit is a super user-friendly, drag-and-drop platform that gives you complete design freedom while offering amazing customer support. It’s a platform I love because it allows you to confidently manage your website on your own once our project wraps up.
I chose Showit for a few reasons. First, it’s incredibly easy to use—something that will save you time and energy down the road. I also provide support videos to walk you through everything. Showit’s customer service is top-notch too—just reach out, and they’ll either handle it or guide you through the process. Plus, Showit’s SEO tools are robust and detailed, helping you optimize your site on every page so you can get found in search engines. Since Showit uses WordPress for blogging, you get the best of both worlds: a customizable design and the best blog host if you decide to add that later. One of my favorite features is their mobile optimization. Unlike many platforms that auto-generate mobile sites (leading to awkward formatting), Showit gives you full control over your mobile design, which is a game-changer, especially with how many people browse on their phones.
can i hire you for ‘maintenance’?
Absolutely! Every project comes with a support library and a personal walkthrough video tutorial, tailored to your specific site, so you leave the process with full confidence to make updates and handle maintenance changes yourself. But I get it—some people are too busy or just prefer not to do it themselves. I have a clients 'on retainer' that have booked a Half Day VIP session once a month to handle all their website maintenance needs. It is also common for past clients to return every 6-12 months for a full site “check-in,” where I update photos, info, and anything else to keep their site current and aligned with their business.
how much can you actually get done in a vip day?
8 hours is a great amount of time, but it’s not quite enough to build an entire website from scratch. However, there’s a lot we can accomplish! During a VIP Day, we can refresh your website’s look with new fonts, colors, and even add a new page if you’ve got a new offering to showcase. We’ll also update content, integrate third-party tools, fix bugs, and perform a full website audit to ensure everything is running smoothly. If you're looking to enhance your site's functionality or make it more user-friendly, this is the perfect way to do it.
While we won’t be able to create copy or tackle a full rebrand, it’s an efficient way to make key updates that will give your site a fresh, polished feel.
do you offer payment plans?
Yes, I do! For custom web design projects, I require a 25% deposit to secure your spot on my design calendar and 25% before we kick off the work. Once your homepage is complete, the next 30% is due, and the remaining 20% is due just before your site officially launches, when I hand everything over to you.
For other services, the payment plan works a little differently. There’s still a 50% non-refundable deposit to reserve your spot, but we’ll break down the remaining 50% based on the specifics of your project. I’ll walk you through everything before we start to make sure the payment schedule works for you.
is seo included?
Yes! I guarantee that your website will get a solid SEO foundation. This includes important elements like keyword integration, text tags, page titles, and meta descriptions. I’ll also guide you on optimizing your images to help further boost your SEO.
That said, no one—not even SEO experts—can guarantee top rankings on Google (and if they say they can, they're not being truthful). I can promise, however, that your site will have the best possible SEO setup from the start. SEO is a long-term game. It takes time for results to show up (usually months), and it requires ongoing tweaks and updates to stay effective and maintain strong performance.
is copywriting included?
Copywriting is not included as part of our services. However, I provide a website content planner with helpful prompts to guide you through writing the copy for every page of your site.
That said, I definitely recommend working with a professional copywriter for the best results. Many of my clients choose to collaborate with copywriters from my trusted referral list, who I regularly work with and recommend.
are there additional expenses?
Clients are responsible for purchasing any fonts used in their design and ensuring they have the proper legal licensing. You’ll also need to cover the cost of a Showit subscription and domain registration for your site.
is my deposit refundable?
No, the deposit is non-refundable. It’s required to reserve your spot on our calendar, which is typically booked 1-3 months in advance. This helps ensure that every project gets the time and attention it deserves. Since we may turn away other potential clients to hold your spot, the deposit confirms your commitment to moving forward with the project.
can i keep my current blog?
Absolutely! If your blog is currently hosted on WordPress or Squarespace, I’ll work with Showit’s talented developer team to smoothly migrate all your existing blog posts to your shiny new custom Showit site.
what do you need from me to begin?
Once the contract is signed and your deposit is paid, we’ll kick things off! Before your project officially starts, I’ll need you to complete a few questionnaires and upload your website copy, branding elements, photos, and videos. You’ll also get a Brand Identity Workbook to fill out, which helps us dive deep into your business and vision.
what support do you offer?
When your custom web design project is complete, you’ll receive two weeks of support where I’m fully available to assist with any minor changes or questions. You’ll also get a personalized walk-through video covering your specific site and addressing any questions you might have. Plus, you'll have access to our comprehensive tutorial library, ensuring you're set up for success. Along with my support, Showit offers fantastic live chat support and an abundance of video tutorials, so you'll always have the resources you need to confidently manage your site on your own.
can i keep my domain/url?
Absolutely! Your domain stays the same. Showit simply hosts your site, so you can keep your domain wherever it’s currently registered (Squarespace, Namecheap, GoDaddy, Wix, etc.). I’ll take care of the hosting transfer at the end of the project, so you don't have to worry about a thing.
will i have any downtime where my website doesn’t work?
It’s possible! While I’m working on your site, your old website will stay live and unchanged. Once we begin the DNS transfer, things need time to propagate. In some cases, the whole process has only taken 15 minutes (meaning the site was down for just that time), but typically, it can take anywhere from 2 to 48 hours. I personally haven’t experienced a transfer taking longer than 1 hour.
If downtime is a concern for you, I’ll initiate this process in the late evening to minimize any disruption during hours when your site’s visitors are likely to be active.
what is the difference between template customization and custom web design?
With custom web design, we start from scratch, building everything around your unique vision and goals. This process can take up to 4 weeks, and the end result will be a fully tailored website that’s completely one-of-a-kind.
On the other hand, with template customization, we take an existing template (which you’ll purchase separately) and customize up to 6 pages to fit your brand. This option allows us to get your site up and running much faster—sometimes within just 2 days—while still giving you a polished, brand-aligned website.
i know i want to use you, but can't begin for a couple months. what should i do?
Definitely reach out as soon as you can to reserve your spot! My calendar tends to fill up 1-3 months in advance, and in some cases, even further out. If you're looking to lock in your timeline, it’s a good idea to get in touch early so we can secure your spot.
