For over 15 years, Studio 55 School of Dance has been a home for creativity, growth, and confidence-building in dancers of all ages. Under Kirstin’s leadership, the studio has expanded to include two beloved sub-brands: Bloom, a whimsical preschool program, and Creation Dance Company, a competitive team for advanced dancers. While each program carried its own charm, the overall brand identity lacked cohesion.
The logos for Studio 55, Bloom, and Creation had been created within the last few years and were already recognized in the community—but they didn’t feel connected. Each had its own look and feel, leaving social media posts, signage, and studio materials looking disjointed. Kirstin knew she wanted to honor the recognition her current branding held while refining it into something more polished, cohesive, and sustainable for years to come.
I partnered with Kirstin to refresh the primary Studio 55 brand while developing thoughtful submarks and a shared visual system that tied Bloom and Creation into the family. The goal was to keep what the community already loved—like the signature dancer figure—while elevating the fonts, colors, and layout to feel more grounded, professional, and versatile.
This branding suite was designed to give Studio 55 and its sub-brands a unified, intentional identity that reflects their core values of playfulness, belonging, and growth. From earthy tones to polished typography, every piece works together to help the studio’s story shine consistently across all platforms.
For Studio 55, the priority was striking the right balance: a professional, polished brand identity that still honored the whimsy, playfulness, and warmth of a children’s dance studio. With two internal programs—Bloom and Creation Dance Company—the challenge was creating space for each to shine with its own personality, while keeping everything connected under the larger Studio 55 umbrella.
From the very beginning, this project was highly collaborative. Kirstin had a clear sense of what was working (like the recognizable dancer figure and community familiarity) and what needed refinement (inconsistent logos, disjointed color palettes, and lack of cohesion). Together, we mapped out how to preserve the heart of each logo while elevating the overall look into something more intentional and future-ready.
Visually, the refreshed branding suite introduces a grounded, earthy palette anchored by green tones, paired with clean, modern typography for clarity and consistency. Each sub-brand received its own dedicated accent color and submark—playful and whimsical for Bloom, mature and polished for Creation—so they could stand alone while still feeling like part of one family. Subtle refinements, like redrawing the dancer figure and harmonizing font choices, helped create cohesion without losing recognition.
Rather than reinventing the wheel, this was about elevating and unifying what Studio 55 already had. The result is a professional yet approachable identity that gives the studio confidence across signage, social media, and merchandise, while giving families and dancers a brand that feels recognizable, intentional, and true to the heart of Studio 55.
Jordin created the most beautiful and cohesive branding for my dance studio and two of our internal programs. We were so ready for a professional refresh! Before working with her, we struggled to balance the professionalism we wanted with the whimsy of being a children’s dance studio. We also had trouble giving each of our programs its own identity while keeping our overall branding cohesive.
