When Emily Austin needed a therapist website design that felt modern, calming, and relatable to millennial clients, she knew her existing site wasn’t hitting the mark. Her previous website lacked engaging elements, didn’t reflect her personality, and wasn’t visually aligned with the experience she wanted to create for her clients.
Emily already had a pre-established logo, but she wanted to refresh her colors and fonts to better match her brand. Our goal was to design a website that felt warm, inviting, and approachable—a space where potential clients could feel seen, understood, and supported.

Understanding Emily’s Vision
Before jumping into the design, we created a custom mood board to set the tone. Emily’s words described the exact energy she wanted her brand to exude:
💬 “I want the aesthetic to be calming, relatable, and modern, not outdated and antiquated. I want clients to see a fellow person (close to their age) who has grown up in the same millennial time period, struggling with social media, comparison, and unattainable expectations. I want them to know I’ve been there too—that I’ve navigated intense anxiety, people-pleasing tendencies, and conflict avoidance, and found my value through therapy.”
Her ideal clients? Modern, simplistic, and drawn to aesthetically pleasing visuals.
This mood board helped guide every design choice moving forward.

The Before: A Website That Didn’t Reflect Her Brand
Emily’s old website had a few key issues that made it difficult to connect with potential clients:
Lack of engaging visuals – The site felt static and didn’t visually represent her warm, approachable personality.
Minimal branding – While she had a logo, her color palette and fonts didn’t align with the modern aesthetic she wanted.
No clear client journey – Visitors weren’t guided seamlessly through her services, leading to a disconnected user experience.

The After: A Calming, Modern Therapist Website Design
With Emily’s vision in mind, we focused on a clean, modern layout with a calming color palette. We also wanted thoughtful typography, and engaging elements that reflect her brand’s warmth.
✨ Key Website Features:
Watercolor Paint Swashes & Blotches – Emily loved subtle, artistic details, so we carried watercolor-inspired elements throughout the site for a soft, organic feel.
Warm & Approachable Copy – Every piece of text was intentionally written to make visitors feel understood, heard, and encouraged.
Streamlined Client Journey – The website now guides potential clients effortlessly from learning about Emily to booking a consultation.
Mobile Optimization – Every detail was designed to look beautiful and function smoothly across all devices.

Emily’s Thoughts on Her New Website
After launching her new site, Emily shared a testimonial about the process:

This project was an absolute honor to work on. Emily’s passion for helping millennial women navigate anxiety and OCD shines through in every detail. I’m so grateful to have helped her create a website that feels like home to her and her clients.
