Before we dive into this beautiful therapy website design reveal, let me introduce myself! I’m Jordin—the designer, strategist, and soul behind Unica Formo. I specialize in creating heartfelt, high-converting websites for therapists, coaches, and creatives who care deeply about the work they do and the people they serve. With a background in both education and design, plus over a decade of client-facing experience, I’ve built a business helping others build theirs—intentionally and authentically.
I’ve worked with dozens of mental health professionals, translating their values and visions into websites that feel like a true extension of their practice. And because I’m just a little obsessed with making sure your website doesn’t just look good but works well too, every site I design includes thoughtful SEO strategy, mobile optimization, and clear client journeys that make it easy for the right people to say “yes.”
With that, I’d like to say that Kristen was my ideal client.
Kristen’s site for Embodied Healing Counseling and Yoga was one of those extra-special projects—where mission, message, and design all came together to create something warm, welcoming, and deeply rooted in her purpose. Let’s get into it. ?
When Kristen Simons of Embodied Healing Counseling and Yoga came to me, she had one big goal for her new website: to create a space that felt like sitting down with an old friend and a warm cup of coffee. A place where her ideal clients—those overachieving millennial women that might struggle with imposter syndome, insecurities, and figuring out their identities—could land, breathe a little easier, and finally feel seen.
Kristen’s previous website didn’t reflect the depth of connection she brings to both her therapy and yoga offerings. She wanted it to feel personal, warm, and most of all, real—not sterile or overly polished. She wanted to create a space where clients could meet her before they ever walked in the door, and know in their gut: this is someone who gets it.
Understanding Kristen’s Vision
From the start, Kristen was crystal clear about the kind of experience she wanted to create online. Here’s how she described the feeling she was going for:
? “Like they do when they are sitting down with an old friend and a cup of coffee—able to share vulnerably and feel truly heard, like the person they are seeing on the website (me) gets it and genuinely wants to help.”
That energy drove every single design and copy choice. We knew this wasn’t just a site about services—it was about building trust and easing the pressure people often feel when looking for the “right” therapist or yoga teacher.
To ground her brand visually, we leaned into a natural, calming color palette with soft, earthy tones—bringing in warmth and approachability without sacrificing professionalism. The layout flows in a way that mirrors Kristen’s personality: thoughtful, spacious, and grounded.

Who She Serves (and How We Spoke to Them)
Kristen’s ideal client is the kind of person who has it “together” on the outside but is quietly grappling with anxiety, imposter syndrome, and the pressure to be perfect. She works with women in their mid-20s to mid-50s (and a few good men!) from Evanston, IL and nearby areas—people who frequent coffee shops, yoga studios, parks, and breweries.
They want to feel empowered. They want to stop second-guessing themselves. They’re ready to reconnect with their bodies, regulate their nervous systems, and figure out who they really are outside of the expectations placed on them.
We made sure the website copy spoke directly to those needs—with a tone that’s empathetic but also gently humorous and down-to-earth (just like Kristen).
The Before: A Therapy Website Design That Didn’t Feel Like Home
Kristen’s previous site had good intentions, but it lacked the flow, polish, and personality needed to connect with the right people. It didn’t reflect the depth of her holistic offerings—or the grounded warmth she brings to her work. There was no clear client path, and the layout felt a bit piecemeal.
She needed a true online home—one that invited visitors in and clearly showed them how therapy and yoga could be tools for transformation.

The After: A Calming, Honest, and Heartfelt Space
With Kristen’s goals in mind, we designed a custom Showit site that brought her vision to life. Clean, calming, and content-rich—with just enough personal touches to make it feel human.
✨ Key Therapy Website Design Features:
-
Coffee Shop Meets Counseling Energy: From soft textures to intentional whitespace, the design invites ease and comfort from the start.
-
Clear Navigation: Clear, intuitive paths whether someone is interested in therapy, yoga, or both—no more confusion or dead ends.
-
Rooted in SEO: Kristen wanted her services to be found on Google without needing to become an SEO expert. So I took care of the technical setup.
-
A Therapist Who’s Real: We included lifestyle photography and personal touches to showcase who Kristen is—not just what she does.

What Kristen Had to Say About the Process
“Working with Jordin was an absolute joy! She made the entire process fun, simple, and streamlined, and the quality of her work is truly outstanding. She was incredibly communicative, receptive, and collaborative, ensuring my website was exactly what I envisioned. I also appreciated her thoughtful suggestions along the way.
One of the standout aspects of working with Jordin was her SEO expertise—something I’ve found lacking with other web designers. She not only implemented the majority of it but also guided me through the process, saving me from having to become an armchair SEO expert (which I definitely don’t have time for!).
Beyond her professionalism, Jordin is simply a wonderful person, and I feel so lucky to have worked with her. I would 10/10 recommend her to anyone looking for a beautiful, calming online space to showcase their services. And the best part? I got to support a small, woman/mom-owned business in my home state!”
