Functional Nutrition Website Design for Monique Vuong RD
The Scope: Custom Showit Web Design
The Vibes: Warm, clear, credibility-driven
The Industry: Insurance-Based Nutrition Counseling
When Monique came to me, she already had a website for her nutrition practice, but it wasn’t fully communicating the depth of her expertise or the level of support she provides.
She specializes in functional nutrition, gut health, and chronic inflammation, which means there is a lot of information to communicate. The goal wasn’t simply to make the website look better. It was to make the information easier to understand, create a clearer path through the site, and better communicate what makes her approach different.
For this functional nutrition website design, I focused on creating a more strategic online presence that feels credible and educational without becoming overwhelming.

The Challenge
Monique’s previous website gave her practice a starting point, but as her business evolved, she needed more from it.
Her approach goes beyond traditional nutrition counseling. She provides evidence-based functional nutrition care while moving away from restrictive protocols and one-size-fits-all wellness advice. Her goal is to help clients better understand their health and build sustainable strategies through education and collaboration.
The challenge was figuring out how to communicate all of that without asking visitors to read through walls of information before they understood what Monique actually does.
The new website needed to feel knowledgeable and trustworthy while still being approachable for someone who may already feel overwhelmed by the amount of conflicting nutrition and health information online.

Turning Information Into a Clearer Experience
A big part of this project was restructuring the content and creating a more intentional flow throughout the website.
Instead of treating every piece of information as equally important, I focused on what a potential client needs to understand first, then built the rest of the experience around it.
Visitors can more easily understand Monique’s services, her approach to functional nutrition, and what working with her looks like. The structure also creates space for more detailed educational content without allowing the information to take over the experience.
That balance is especially important for a nutrition website. You want to demonstrate your expertise, but you also need someone who isn’t a nutrition professional to be able to understand what you’re saying.
Functional Nutrition Website Design With Strategy Behind It
The visual direction supports that same goal.
I used a refined typography system, calming colors, and thoughtfully selected imagery to create a website that feels professional and credible while still reflecting the warmth behind Monique’s practice.
The functional nutrition website design also incorporates strategic SEO throughout the site, including improved page structure, keyword placement, optimized headings, and schema markup to strengthen the website’s ability to communicate its services to search engines.
The result is a website that feels much more intentional, both visually and structurally.
Making Gut Health Information Easier to Understand
Because Monique specializes in gut health and chronic inflammation, the website needed to explain complex topics without making potential clients feel like they needed a nutrition degree to follow along.
The content and page structure were designed to meet visitors where they are. Instead of relying on restrictive nutrition language or promising quick fixes, the website communicates Monique’s focus on education, collaboration, and sustainable changes.
The finished site gives her expertise room to shine while keeping the experience approachable for the people she’s actually trying to reach.

What Monique Had to Say
“I had been thinking of redoing my website for awhile, but I knew that I wanted to find someone who could not only make a beautiful website, but could also capture my vision and personality. When I first looked through Jordin’s website, I could tell she was intentional about her work.
Jordin was so patient and receptive to all my feedback throughout the process, encouraging me to be as honest as possible so that she could truly capture my vision. She was also great about making sure I knew how to navigate the backend of my website once it was done. I am very grateful for her attentiveness and care in creating my website. And I am so happy with how everything turned out! Would highly recommend her!”

Functional Nutrition Website Design FAQ
What should a functional nutrition website include?
A functional nutrition website should clearly explain who you help, what you specialize in, what your approach looks like, and what potential clients can expect. It should also make complex health information easy to navigate and understand.
How can a nutritionist make their website feel credible without overwhelming visitors?
Strong organization is just as important as the information itself. Your website can demonstrate your expertise while prioritizing the questions potential clients actually have, using clear navigation, intentional content hierarchy, and straightforward messaging.
Can SEO be built into a nutrition website?
Absolutely. SEO can be incorporated into the website structure, page content, headings, metadata, internal linking, and schema markup so that your site is easier for both potential clients and search engines to understand.
