Coastal Style Therapist Website Design for Anchored Life Therapy
The Scope: Custom Showit Web Design & Light Branding
The Vibes: Soothing, hopeful, coastal
The Industry: Individual & Couples Therapy
When Heather came to me, she knew she wanted an online home for her therapy practice, but she didn’t have a clear vision for exactly what it should look like. She knew she wanted something polished, modern, and reflective of who she is as a therapist, and she needed help figuring out how to get there.
For this coastal style therapist website design, I created a custom Showit website and light brand identity that feels calm, welcoming, and grounded without leaning into the typical beachy look you might expect from a coastal-inspired design.

The Challenge
Heather works with individuals and couples navigating anxiety, grief, trauma, relationship challenges, life transitions, and questions of purpose and direction. Her approach considers the whole person, incorporating systemic, attachment-focused, trauma-informed, and mind-body perspectives.
The website needed to communicate that depth without feeling clinical or overwhelming. It also needed to help potential clients understand Heather’s approach and the different ways she supports them while creating a sense of warmth and reassurance.
Creating a Coastal-Inspired Brand
I started with light branding to establish the visual foundation for the website.
The direction was inspired by the feeling of the coast rather than obvious beach imagery. Soft natural tones, organic details, airy spacing, and subtle textures create a sense of calm without making the site feel like a beach-themed template.
That distinction was important. Heather wanted the peaceful, grounded feeling associated with the coast, but the design still needed to feel professional and appropriate for a therapy practice.
The result is a visual identity that feels soothing and hopeful while giving the website plenty of personality.
Coastal Style Therapist Website Design With Purpose
From there, I translated the brand into a custom Showit website designed around the client experience.
The structure makes it easy for visitors to learn about Heather, understand her therapeutic approach, explore individual and couples therapy, and find information about trauma and Christian-informed therapy.
Rather than overwhelming visitors with everything at once, the site uses clear sections and intentional page flow to gradually introduce Heather and her work.
The coastal style therapist website design creates a calm visual experience while making sure the website is still doing the practical work of helping a potential client decide whether Heather might be the right fit.

A Website That Feels Like Heather
One of my favorite parts of this project was helping Heather take the things she already knew about herself and her practice and turn them into a cohesive online presence.
She didn’t need a website that looked like every other therapist website. She needed something polished and modern that still felt warm, personal, and approachable.
The finished Showit website creates that balance through a soft coastal-inspired aesthetic, thoughtful content structure, and clear messaging around Heather’s approach to therapy.
It gives potential clients a sense of who she is before they ever walk into a session, while giving Heather a professional online home she can feel confident sending people to.

What Heather Had to Say
“From start to finish, Jordin was extremely competent, efficient, encouraging, and patient. I am not techy at all but I knew it was time for an online home for my therapy practice. I wanted it to be polished and knew I needed help. I found Unica Formo through an online search and was struck by the super positive reviews. She was the first (and only) designer that I reached out to, and I hit the jackpot. She is incredibly skilled at her work. I am detailed and methodical and sometimes paralyzed by perfectionism- but also, I wasn’t even really sure what all I needed nor did I have a clear vision of what exactly I wanted. She walked me through every single step at my pace. She was super quick with every edit and next step on her end as she helped me express who I am as a therapist online. Thank you, Jordin! I am so grateful for your skilled help in creating a polished and modern website!”

Coastal Style Therapist Website Design FAQ
Can a therapist website have a coastal design without feeling too beachy?
Absolutely. Coastal design doesn’t have to mean seashells, ocean graphics, or obvious beach imagery. Soft natural colors, organic textures, spacious layouts, and subtle visual details can create a coastal feeling while keeping the overall website polished and professional.
What should a therapist website communicate?
Your website should help potential clients understand who you work with, what you offer, how you approach therapy, and what makes your practice different. It should also give them a sense of who you are before they decide whether to reach out.
Why choose a custom Showit website for a therapy practice?
A custom Showit website gives you the flexibility to create an online presence around your actual practice rather than trying to fit your services, personality, and approach into a generic template.
